Security firm licence

Needed to run a business supplying crowd controllers or security officers for reward.

Individual licences

Security officer licence

Needed to provide a security service, including patrolling or guarding another person’s property.

Crowd controller licence

Needed to work as a crowd controller at licensed premises, places of entertainment or events: monitoring behaviour, screening entry and removing people.

CCTV, alarm and lock work

The NT licence types we found cover firms, security officers and crowd controllers. They don’t cover installing alarms, CCTV or locks, so for that work ask about trade licences, such as an electrical licence for hard-wired work.
